The DDS Experience
How Our School Works
The Defensive Driving School is a 2-day program including 3 hours in-classroom and 3 hours on-road education taught by active officials such as firefighters, police officers, and EMS drivers.
2 Day Program: 3 hours in-classroom (Friday evening) & 3 hours on-road (Saturday morning)
Taught by active officials: Firefighters, police officers, and EMS drivers.
For ages 16 & up (with a valid drivers license)
$95 fee
Weekly Sessions
Hands- On Driver Training
Teens learn best by doing. Our hands-on driver training puts students behind the wheel in a controlled environment where they can practice defensive driving techniques, experience challenging situations, and learn how to respond safely. With experienced instruction and real-world exercises, students build the confidence and skills they need before facing these situations on the road.
Led by Trusted Officials of North Carolina, Such As Police Officers, EMS, and Fire Fighters
Students learn from experienced, trusted officials who bring real-world knowledge from years of working on our roads. Through firsthand insight, practical instruction, and lessons drawn from actual driving situations, teens gain a deeper understanding of safe driving, responsible decision-making, and the consequences of dangerous choices behind the wheel.
Emergency Preparedness
Being a safe driver means knowing what to do when something goes wrong. Students learn practical roadside skills such as safely handling a breakdown, changing a tire, responding to common vehicle emergencies, and knowing when and how to call for help—giving them the confidence to stay calm and make smart decisions in unexpected situations.
